Outreach - Aberdeen Hall in the Community

The objective of our outreach programme is to educate our students about the social responsibility of assisting those in need and how to become compassionate and contributing citizens in the greater community around them.

Our Community Outreach Programme operates on the three levels:

  • Our City
  • Our Country
  • Our World

Our goal each year is to involve our students at each of these levels. For the past two years, our local community project was Have a Heart.  In this program, students raised money for the new children’s ward of the Kelowna General Hospital. For our country project, we collected items of outdoor clothing and donated them to less fortunate families and children. Our world project is in its formative stages and has plans to assist a minority group school in South Africa by raising funds to buy much needed school equipment.

Additional programmes throughout the year include projects for the Heart and Stroke Association, and the annual Terry Fox Run for cancer research.

We are constantly working to develop this programme and welcome all members input and contributions in this area.
