Information and Communication Technology
At Aberdeen Hall we recognize the importance of teaching and using technology in the classroom. Our Grade 4 to 6 classrooms are fitted with Interactive Whiteboards used by both teachers and students. Students frequently mention how the IWB assists their understanding through visual displays and interactive games

Aberdeen Hall has a portable laptop programme used by teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Through timetabled IT lessons and the use of laptops in subject lessons we expect all our students to achieve the following by the end of Grade 6:
- be able to use a word processor to create reports and documents that include graphics, tables and columns.have learned to use presentation software to create a teaching resource and produce graphics centered presentations
- be able to use a spreadsheet to accomplish simple tasks
- identify information technology tools used to access information
- protect information using information technology tools
- enter information accurately using appropriate keyboarding techniques and software that allows for the storage, retrieval, and editing of material
- demonstrate the ability to formulate questions and to use a variety of sources and tools to access, capture, and store information
- use appropriate information technology terminology
- describe and practise appropriate safety procedures when working with information technology tools
- apply a variety of troubleshooting techniques related to information technology
- demonstrate an awareness of the impact of information technology tools on society
- identify careers and occupations that use information technology
