Resource Coordinator
At Aberdeen Hall we are aware that all children come with their own unique gifts and talents and that students learn at different rates. At any given time a child may require extra assistance or enrichment in the core subject areas. Children may require resource support within the classroom, in a small group or on an individual basis. Some children may also require ongoing support as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP). The Resource Coordinator is available to these students and works collaboratively with administration, faculty and parents.
The role of the Resource Coordinator is:
- To provide assistance and enrichment to students requiring support and for those working on an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- To work with administration, faculty, volunteers and parents and, where appropriate, to assist in differentiating classroom curriculum.
- To facilitate school-based resource team meetings (SRT) and to develop, update and monitor Individual Education Plans.
- To meet with parents and provide support and strategies on an ongoing basis.
- To conduct informal assessments in the core subject areas and refer students for additional testing by specialists as needed.
