Physical Education

Physical Education at Aberdeen Hall plays a significant role in our Middle School student development. The Physical Education programming is set to challenge all students and offers a diverse selection of activities. These include both team and individual orientated activities along with fitness development and outdoor education.  The program introduces new skills and reviews and refines basic movement skills developed during the earlier elementary years. Team sports such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, handball, rugby and flag football are all stressed.  Individual activities include wrestling, track and field, tennis, badminton, gymnastics and dance as well as an array of minor cooperative games are also emphasized in the curriculum. As an emphasis is placed the promotion of life long health and fitness a variety of field trips are offered to expose students to wealth of activities available here in the Okanagan.  Our students have been speed-skating, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and to gymnastics centers. One of the highlights of the school year is the outdoor education component of horizons week where, the students go sea kayaking in Southern Gulf Islands.
